Art & Stewardship

I designed this experiential, outdoor workshop to foster reflective experiences upon our relationship with nature and weave acts of stewardship into the multifaceted art-making session. Utilizing a 200-year-old method of camera-less photography, participants created cyanotype prints as forms of artistic expressions from the sensory experience of connecting with their environment. The group was led through the traditional process of UV exposures which naturally established time for discussion of the subject matter selected and the personal relation to such. Methodologies and activities for trust and community building were implemented throughout the session as well as education related to environmental preservation and accessible actions we can all take to lessen our impacts on nature.

The workshop below was held in West Vancouver, BC, supported via the Ferry Building Gallery & Harmony Arts Festival in August 2023.
