Commissioned by the BC Children’s Hospital, I had the privilege of crafting five murals for the new Acute Care Centre, each a celebration of British Columbia’s rich ecology. My creations brought to life the local flora and fauna, weaving them into playful explorations that resonate with the hospital’s wayfinding themes. These murals were more than mere decorations; they were designed as captivating diversions within the waiting areas, enhancing the therapeutic milieu for the hospital’s young patients, their families, and the dedicated staff.
Given the sensitive nature of the hospital environment, the murals’ installation process remained undocumented. However, the architectural renderings stand testament to the expansive scale and thematic coherence of my work, reflecting my commitment to fostering a healing atmosphere through art.
