Enraciné

Created in 2015, this series marked a pivotal departure in my artistic practice and the beginning of my exploration into environmental artmaking.
Inspired by the idea that humanity must fundamentally shift its consciousness to address the environmental challenges it has created, the series examines the relationship between industrialization, human perception, and ecological sustainability.
Urban compositions depicting Manhattan are inverted, symbolizing the foundations of industrialized society, and collaged with imagery drawn from the natural world. These layered compositions suggest a transformation in perspective, challenging established ways of seeing and inviting reflection on the evolution of human consciousness necessary to confront the ecological crises of our time.

The series draws upon a sentiment attributed to Albert Einstein: “No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it.”
