Commissioned to create a historical and interactive public artwork for a hotel lobby in Whistler, British Columbia, I developed a sculptural installation incorporating structural steel, timber, three-dimensional elements, archival photography, seventeen custom frames, and three six-inch-deep shadow boxes.

The concept emerged from seven months of archival research conducted in collaboration with the Whistler Museum. Through historical photographs, documents, and personal accounts, I traced the stories of the people who shaped Whistler's identity, discovering a shared spirit of adventure and connection to the mountains that has endured since the early twentieth century.

Each framed composition brings together archival imagery and historical narratives, revealing individual stories within a larger collective history. The installation celebrates the generations of mountain enthusiasts, adventurers, and free spirits who have contributed to Whistler's evolving cultural identity, connecting the community's past with its present.
