City of Richmond
Commissioned by the City of Richmond, this permanent public art installation transforms functional recycling receptacles into vibrant sculptural elements throughout Steveston Village and Garry Point Park.
The design features the Sockeye Salmon, one of the Pacific salmon species that migrate through the local estuary. Rendered in bold colours and designed to engage viewers from multiple perspectives, the artwork draws attention to the receptacles while encouraging responsible waste disposal.
By integrating ecological imagery into everyday public infrastructure, the installation celebrates the region's natural heritage while promoting environmental stewardship.
