This experiential, outdoor workshop is designed to foster reflective experiences upon relationships with nature and acts of stewardship through a multifaceted art-making session facilitated by visual artist and environmental advocate, Desirée Patterson. Utilizing a 200-year-old method of camera-less photography, participants will create cyanotype prints as forms of artistic expressions from a sensory experience of connecting with their environment. The group is led through the traditional process of UV exposures which naturally establishes time for discussion of the subject matter selected and the personal relation to such. Methodologies/activities for trust and community building are implemented throughout the sessions as well as education related to environmental preservation and accessible actions we can all take to lessen our impacts on nature.
